If the stylus does not work on your device, you can easily switch the mode. Then the pen completely turns off and it doesn't work until I remove and put back the batteries (or simply unscrewing and re-screwing the battery lid). The stylus needs to match the protocol of your Windows device. The pen stops working if I press either of the side buttons on the pen.
